The Associated Press (AP) reports that Hispanic Protestants are swinging back to Obama:
"I find it powerfully refreshing, enforcing the reality that we're not going to be the white evangelical community," said the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference..."we're not the Christian right. We will not be the extension of one political party and we won't be exploited and used for victory and then ignored," he added.
The AP article reminds us that "Obama did utter the words "my Muslim faith" in a September television interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos but corrected himself. However, another Hispanic Protestant admits that he " was unaware that Obama has professed his Christianity repeatedly and explained how his Christian faith shapes his politics."
A Pew poll in September found 13 percent of all voters — and 19 percent of McCain backers — believed Obama is a Muslim."
