Obama's maintaining a small but solid lead in the polls. We're this close to an end to the Bush era, a new start for this country, and a historic victory for Barack Obama.
But it could all come crashing down if John McCain and Sarah Palin's new attacks about taxes and terrorists are effective in distracting voters.
Our plan is to make sure Obama has enough volunteers on the ground to counter these smears, voter-by-voter.
So we're holding more "MoveOn for Obama" parties next weekend (10/18-19) to call into battleground states for Barack. We'll recruit 15,000 new swing-state volunteers—and give his campaign a huge people-powered boost heading into the home stretch. Can you host a party?
Hosting a party is really easy—we guide you step-by-step through a successful event. Plus, folks who go tell us that it's a blast. Here's how one member described the parties:
It was inspiring to gather together in a state where we know that Obama is going to win, and be able to do something to make a difference where it is needed. It was really inspiring to be part of a national effort. We loved being a part of this important work. —Krisi N., Northampton, MA
This is one of the best ways you can help Barack win—especially if you live in a place like New York that's not one of the most competitive this year. Thousands of MoveOn members have already hosted parties—and recruited more than 50,000 volunteers! We hope you can step up, too. Please sign up today to host a party:
