Obama raises $9m In A Single Evening

Barack Obama has raised an estimated $9 million a single evening of fundraising in Hollywood, starting with a cocktail reception for 300 people followed by a performance for 800 by Barbra Streisand (*).

The Fruits of the Spirit versus the fruits of the flesh (**)

As usual, at the fundraising cocktail reception Obama showcased some Fruits of the Spirit while talking about John McCain: "And we're running against somebody who has a formidable biography, a compelling biography. He's a genuine American hero, somebody who served in uniform and suffered through some things that very few of us can imagine. And so he is a worthy opponent."

Meanwhile, John McCain remained true to himself while talking about Barack Obama in the battleground state of Ohio: "he taunted Sen. Obama for flying out to his "celebrity friends" in Hollywood.--"Let me tell you, my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than right here with the working men and women of Ohio," Mr McCain said.

McCain knows better than most of us how money is important in any campaign. Without money you cannot run a campaign nor win an election. Nevertheless, McCain cannot help denigrating his opponent. I understand the need to attack the other candidate but at times, it's not justified.

(**) The Fruit of the Spirit is a concept from the Christian New Testament of The Bible, which meant to show kindness or to be friendly to others (have a positive attitude in general). The fruits of the flesh is the opposite.
