Conservative Talk Radio Host Michael Smerconish Endorses Obama

According to Jake Tapper, Michael Smerconish said on his talk show WPHT today : "John McCain is an honorable man who has served his country well. But he will not get my vote. For the first time since registering as a Republican 28 years ago, I’m voting for a Democrat for president." He added that his " conclusion comes after reading the candidates’ memoirs and campaign platforms, attending both party conventions, interviewing both men multiple times, and watching all primary and general election debates."

In the course of this presidential campaign, all republicans who have endorsed Sen. Obama, have taken a lot of heat (to say the least) from their fellow conservatives. Unfortunately, there will be no exception for Smerconish.
