Almighty God,

Your Word tells us, "The eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His." You see past our appearance, our education, our occupation, our experience, and You see into our hearts. And those whose hearts are completely Yours find uncommon strength from You.

Lord, we ask that You would give us--at every level--leaders who are men and women after Your own heart.

Give us leaders who will lead with integrity and truth. May they be men and women of conviction who are more concerned about doing what is right than about securing a high approval rating.

Guide us to candidates who are honest in the midst of what is often a jaded political process. Although no one is perfect, show us which candidates have been tainted the least and who desire what is best for their country.

Please lead us to vote for people who not only have deep seated morals but are grounded in a relationship with You. May these people seek direction from Your Word and from godly advisors. May they be men and women of prayer who don't usurp Your authority but understand that they are answerable to You. And may they be courageous enough to walk in obedience to what You have required of them.

Equip our leaders with the skills to craft and pass laws with knowledge and understanding. Give them the wisdom to know how to achieve concesus.

Lord God, You are the one who sets up leaders and deposes them. You are the one who gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. Open the eyes of the voters so we will see past the appearances and into the heart. Through our leaders, may You turn our hearts toward you.

I trust the Wisdom that guides the Universe is the same Intelligence that moves through all voters to guide this election to its perfect outcome. The inherent Spiritual nature of Infinite Harmony prevails throughout the inner individual search for the right choice that is beyond any conflicting limiting perceptions of separation. I let go of any misillusions about false outcomes because God always affirms the truth. In this election, I witness the emergence of a new phase of Divine Transformation encompassing all dimensions of political and national expression.

This election reveals a new global security resting in God's hands as informed citizens and discerning people who vote for a fresh political vision. I stand at the tipping point which releases the most peaceful time in human history. Through a new level of diplomacy, war as it is known, is obsolete. I participate in this historic moment for peace, understanding and reconciliation.

The rhetoric of pundits gives way to a new lexicon of compassion and unity. Fear turns into trust, deceit becomes transparent, distain alchemizes to respect. With this new Delphic manner of speech, the abundant tide returns. The debilitating, capricious chaotic concerns of scarcity, loss, and abandonment becomes the prime candidates for the vicissitudes of change our country needs
while poverty dissolves into the nothingness from where it came.

Seeing how cynicism grew into uncontrolled economic excess, borrowing and spending. I know Spirit does not affirm corruption, lack, or pain; for God only knows Infinite Good. I choose to see as God sees our nation in a trusting light of abundant love. Any lingering pockets of discontent are just places that know not yet their heavenly beauty of abundant freedom and love. Sharing and circulation of wealth return as Spirit's guidance move us from times of peril to promise of our great destiny.

In shifting responsiveness to the collective heart, a new day is born. This change brings about a unified nation and a comprehensive global respect. The turnout of voters for this election ia at an all time high as there is a return to the honoring of each individual's voice, talent and purpose. Every contribution is welcomed and appreciated as the elected leadership wisely navigates the profound challenges of the new political age.

This incoming benevolent leadership converges and cooperates, while embracing the interplay between nations and people of our common Earth. This new field of understanding catapults all beyond the fragmentations of the past to a creative way toward globalization of freedom and equanimity for the human family.

I gratefully believe this noble task has elected the right leadership at the right time to guide the U.S. and humanity to the fulfillment of God's vision of heaven on earth. I let go to this deep knowingness of Divine right action fulfilling itself for the highest and best good of all concerned. And so it is!

Barack Obama's prayer at the Western Wall

In July 2008 Barack Obama's prayer at the Western Wall in Jerusalem was intercepted and published in different news outlet. I think we should pray in agreement with Obama and ask God to protect Sasha, Malia, Michelle and Barack and that God makes 'him an instrument of his will'. Below is Obama's short prayer:

"Lord — Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

As they chant "kill him" let us plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over Senator Obama from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. Let us pray for protections over both candidates and their respective families. Finally, let us pray that Senator Obama who has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and others running for office are ones who.........................

A Prayer For Barack Obama

I pray Lord that You watch over Barack Obama and keep him safe and well. In times like these, Barack needs extra protection. I call out to You Father. I pray that archangels Gabriel ('the strength of God' - 'my master is God') and Michael ('the field commander of the Army of God' -'"great prince who stands up for the children of God') give Sen. Obama and his family an extra special protection and love.

Please Father, watch over him and his lovely family. Protect them, shield them, shelter them and lead them away from evil minds. Walk with Obama Lord to the mission that You have put him on. I thank You for Your Divine Intervention in stepping in and making sure that the next President of The United States Of America has Your approval. Shine Your light down on Barack, Lord. I thank You for being God, and for loving us the way you do.

Dennis Hopper: "I pray God, Barack Obama is elected"

PARIS (AFP) — Dennis Hopper, the US actor-director perhaps best known for the 1969 road-movie "Easy Rider", is praying for victory by Barack Obama in next month's elections, he said on Monday.

"I voted for Bush, father and son, but this time I'll vote for Obama," he told journalists at the opening of a show on his life and work at the Paris cinematheque. [...] "I pray God, Barack Obama is elected," he said, criticising the current administration's many "lies."

McCain-Palin Sowing Seeds Of Hatred: Let's Pray For Obama

We really need to keep Barack and Michele and family lifted in prayer.

Today I read an excerpt of Rev. Arnold Conrad's prayer: "I would also pray, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god — whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah — that his opponent [Barack Obama] wins, for a variety of reasons".

"And Lord, I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they're going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and Election Day," he said.

This is outrageous.

It is God 's time to vindicate Barack. He has remained, consistent and not attacking McCain personally. He has maintained his integrity but the level of slurs and attacks are unacceptable.

Pray for Barack, Michelle, Malia, Sacha and the Obama campaign staffs, that God will give them strength under such pressure and adversity. And that the American people will seek justice and truth.

McCain-Palin and 'some' of their supporters are engaged in this new anti-everything and everyone ideology. Anti-immigrants, anti-other religions, anti-Christians who do not support the McCain-Palin ticket, anti-hope, anti-love, anti-non whites, anti-whites who do not vote for Republicans, anti-liberals, anti-democrats, anti-media...and anti-you name it!

As I read somewhere earlier today, "in John McCain and Sarah Palin, we are now confronted with a troubling phenomenon: a major party presidential campaign appears to be predicated on the belief that American voters will be motivated more by fear than by hope, that suspicion will trump information, that ignorance is more endearing than substance, and that bigotry will triumph over acceptance." In other words, they believe Americans are stupid and can be easily manipulated.

Pray for God's justice and protection.

The "facts" can be easily disproven with only a little research. I can and have researched all of them and can tell you why they aren’t true, how I KNOW they aren’t true, and who is responsible for spreading some of this viciousness. I addressed a few Obama lies like these in my blog if you are interested. It is at http://faithandpoliticsinpieces.blogspot.com.

My heart breaks whenever I see these. We, the church, are called to be people of truth and integrity. God is God no matter which party controls the White House. As Brett has paraphrased Psalms 20:7 “Some trust in elephants and some in donkeys, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God!”

The deceit that the church has fallen prey to in the last twenty years is the lie that says the end justifies the means. The lie that our hope is found in political processes and God will smite us if our country chooses the “wrong” political leader. Therefore, it is okay to slander and defame anyone who does not agree with our interpretations of scripture or the proper role of government. The god that the church speaks of when it speaks politically is a god that sounds just like the petty Baals that Old Testament prophets warned us against. This American political god is surely not the God of grace and mercy that we encounter at Tres Dias.

My heart breaks, because I have believed these lies myself and fought to convince others to follow this idolatrous worship of a god that scripture mocks. I have been a false prophet in past elections spewing venomous tales, never following the example of the Bereans, who studied to see if the messages they were hearing were right and true. I am broken by my sins and in deep sorrow for the role that I have played in creating a church that would author and spread lies. I, like Paul, have heard God asking me why I was persecuting him.

Please know that I believe that Godly people will, with all righteousness, vote for John McCain, and God will be pleased with them because they did what, in the past, I did not do. They will have studied to learn the truth about both of these candidates, and they will have allowed scripture to inform their decision. I also believe that this time I have allowed God to take me down a different path, and, as a result of my diligent studies and earnest prayer, have decided to vote for Barack Obama. I believe that I too will hear God’s voice of affirmation, because the ETERNAL Lord is less concerned about the results of a FOUR YEAR election than He is about calling to Himself a people who will seek to live in the light of truth and integrity and grace.

Open Letter To McCain/Palin Supporters

After receiving Smears E-mails in their Inboxes, two Obama supporters responded with the messages below. Those emails were sent to me and I am sharing it with you as another prayer request. We pray that lies be exposed in this election and that the truth prevails.

The first email refers to the so called "One Issue Vote":

I am a Christian Supporter of Senator Obama. I read your smears and self-righteous emails. Please answer me some questions: why is it that the Republican party only talks about abortion and of course gay marriage, during election season? After November 5th those issues disappear and then the party of "morals" resorts into their usual policies. You know social Darwinism, "the survival of the fittest/richest". Why is it that you on the religious right have the nerve to say Barack Obama has no morals , yet you see no problem with John McCain leaving his disabled wife for Cindy McCain. Barack is a family man. He has both of his children in wedlock with one woman. Who gave you the right to sit on high and judge him.? Romans 14 speaks of the dangers of condemning other believers (Rom 14:10). So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believers? Remember we will all stand before the judgment seat of God ( verse 12). Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let's stop condemning each other.

On another point, I completely understand and respect the views of those that are pro-life and so does Sen. Obama, to that point. This is the deal, lets pretend McCain-Palin win. Do you realize they will have a majority Democrat congress to deal with? They will not be able to confirm ultra conservative judges even if they wanted to. Furthermore, there is nothing in John McCain's past votes, as far as judges are concerned, that has proven he would appoint ultra conservative judges. I personally think that because of McCain's vindictive nature, which has been well documented, he will probably turn on conservatives once he's elected. Face it, conservatives has been really nasty to him over the years. He has flip-flopped on everything else. Why wouldn't he screw you guys once he doesn't need your votes anymore? I wouldn't blame him. Think about this for a minute, you guys have been pawns for the Republican party for years. They only care about your issues every 4 years. You've had a pro-life president for 8 years, to no avail. This culture war stuff is a tired waste of time. Face it, this country is going to change whether you like it or not. Young people are voting for Obama 3-1 over McCain. You know what that means? These kids will grow up democrats. There will be so few conservatives that you all will become irrelevant. Face it, you all did it to yourselves with your intolerance. Young people have seen the "Right" get into politics and have been turned away from you all. Unfortunately, as a whole, more people are turning away from religion in this country, because of how the right has behaved. The negativity and self-righteousness , the "my way or the highway" attitude, and "if you don't think the way I do, you are my enemy!" People are tired of that. There are more issues Christians should be concerned about like the poor and the sick. I'm not saying God likes it when babies are being killed. I'm just saying no where in my interpretation of the Bible have I gathered it to be our life's mission as Christians, to stop abortions. There's not a verse that even says it emphatically. When I find a verse that says we can't be pro-choice and Christian or vote for some one pro-choice even if we are pro-life, I will let you know. Meanwhile, I am sticking with Barack Obama. You know, the guy that really has family values and has used his entire adult life to help the least of these. Have a nice day!

The second email is entitled "The things I find hypocritical about Palin/McCain supporters":

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight...

* If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."

* Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

* Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, and have NEVER BEEN BAPTISED, you're a Christian.

* If you teach children about sexual predators, you are irresponsible and eroding the fiber of society.

* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America 's.

* If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that hates America and advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

Why do we pray for Barack Obama & Joe Biden?

I read an email today about someone who described faith in God as "religious bul***". Those words did not offend the Christian that I am. They rather reminded me that some people might think that all Christians are the type of individuals who pray God for a deluge to drown out people we disagree with. In fact, the Bible teaches Christians to love one another and bless their enemies. For those who doubt the seriousness of the teaching, I suggest that you grab a Bible and read 1 John 3. Verse 15 is a shocker (*) - Please read the verses in reference at the bottom of this post so that next time you hear or see someone who does not abide by those rules, you will know that they do not represent what Christianity is about! Rev. Charles Moreland explains that prayer is important for Christians because " one way to blossom spiritually is through prayer and meditation." I am going to spare you a detailed theological post here but as a fellow Christian pointed out, among other responsibilities, the next President/Vice President of the United States of America will have to keep an eye on:

• A budget of $2.568 trillion in revenues and $2.73 trillion in expenditures
• A debt of $ 9,697,453,381,850
• The world's third-largest country by size (after Russia and Canada) and by population (after China and India)
• A government constituency of 50 states, over six time zones and an additional five territories, coordinating efforts with 55 governors
• A Congress of 435 representatives and 100 senators, some members of his party, some not
• 1,436,642 members of the Armed Forces of which he is Commander-in-Chief
• A workforce of 153.1 million
• An unemployment rate of 6.1% and 12% of the population living below the poverty line

Father God we come today thanking You for all You have done and continue to do. We can only repay you through faithfulness to Your word, guidance, commandments and the giving over of our very souls to Your call through obedience to Your word. God we come to You in prayer and fervently ask that you touch the hearts, minds and souls of all Christians and non-Christians who are conflicted about Barack Obama's race, name, heritage and/or blinded to Your message and Your anointing by the color of his skin. Please Jesus let those who are blind, lost and/or confused recall and heed Your words in Galatians 3:25-29 ".... For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith.
